What is the best way to touch up/ repair paint chips in my WD. we just finished putting her back together & i have some paint chips around bolt heads & on some sheet metal where we had a little trouble getting things to go back together. We used the new factory OEM orange paint & i don't recall if we used hardner in the can or if it was mixed up at the sprayer. My goal is to have the touch up work be hidden as much as possible. Except for if you are looking for them.
I would appreciate any help i can get on this & thank you, take care.

For touch up I would get a couple different sized artist brushes, trim them to the size or shape you want then use them to touch up the chipped areas.

Hi Ed,

I am not sure what you mean by "if it was mixed up at the sprayer". When a hardener is used, there is a pot life to the mixture of only a few hours at best, after which the mixture gells and becomes unusable. Nature of the beast. If you didn't mix it just prior to use, it probably does not have the hardener in it.

I would just use an artist's brush using the paint without any reducer. Hardener if you wish. Try a little in some obsure area to be sure there will be no lifting. There will always be some noticeable feature of such a repair. Usually bolt head repairs like this work out pretty well though unless you look very closely.
