Is it possible to paint a tractor or equipment with a airless sprayer using a nozzle to match the paint?

As stated, yep it's possible. And yep, could look nice, BUT...

Don't even try it, I've used several, even own one. Does a great job with latex, but consider this, it's legs are designed to straddle a FIVE gallon pain bucket. These things put out MASSIVE amounts of paint and just aren't designed to do anything but big flat surfaces with cheap paint.

My rule of thumb when using one is if you don't want it painted, TAPE IT, and that goes for drop cloths because it'll blow them out of the way and paint whatever is behind them. The overspray is UNBELIVEABLE. I helped the enlisted guys in my squadron paint their barracks one day, used 45 gallons of paint in just a couple hours.

This was a light commercial machine, the little wagners with a quart cup attached to the gun aren't much good for anything. Sounds like what the other gents may have tried.

Yes, but it's also possible to use your fingers too, LOL. Seriously, my experience was with a Wagner 15 years ago and while it did put the paint on it was not a a pretty job. I suppose it depends on what paint your using too. Unless there has been some major improvemts I wouldn't bank on getting a nice job out of an airless.

I agree. I bought a wagner to spray CWF on a wood fence. I had a hard time getting it adjusted right. I've tried to spray latex paint, and was not pleased with the result. I think, if you look around, you can get a small compressor and cheap air gun for close to the same money, and be much happier with the result.
