I noticed in a preveous post that it was recomended to put a surfacer between my epoxy coat and my color coat. Do I have to put that surfacer on. I thought I could just shoot my color over the epoxy coat. Any ideas?....thanks guys

If you want your sheet metal smooth, you need the surfacer. It can be sanded and reapplied as needed. On cast it is not needed, if your sheet metal is already smooth (most isn't), it isn't needed there either. Remember that the topcoat will highlight defects, you may not see them until you are done.
