Can epoxy primer go over self-etching primer?

I am restoring a 1946 Farmall A and am taking the entire tractor apart, replacing all gaskets and seals and cleaning out the ancient oil and dirt. I have been stripping the paint of each part as I go, using electrolysis to get rid of rust, sanding or wire-brushing then I spray with self-etching primer to prevent rusting. Will the self-etching primer help keep rust at bay until the tractor is back together (hopefully by June) and will epoxy primer go over it without any problems? If not, what is the best approach. Thanks, guys.

The PPG omni epoxy primer is compatible with their self etching primer -- it will say on the mfg's P-sheets. I use a product called Picklex 20 on bare metal, comes in squirt bottles and prevents rust as long as it is kept dry.

I forgot to mention that I live in Georgia where things rust in about 20 seconds.
