Getting ready to paint 48 Farmall H and have decided to go to my local Case/IH dealer for paint. I believe the colr is 4150. What about primer do they have it also. My main question is application of the paint and primer. What is yall's recomendation on the number of coats and time between coats for this paint. Any tips or help will be greatly appreciated

The paint you are referring to is 2150. Technically your tractor came with IH 50, which Case-IH doesn't sell, but can be mixed by paint suppliers -- a rather minor point, unless you are an absolute purist.

So far, it's all I use. From the many different colors of Farmall/IH Red that I've seen at shows, it is as close to "real" IH red as you can get. Some will disagree with me, but so far I'm well satisfied with color and durability. I would suggest using epoxy primer. Buy it from your nearest automotive paint supplier. I use Econo-Body(NAPA)#15117 Super Gloss Hardner. This aids longevity and gloss of paint. Send me an e-mail for more info!
