Painting the Tufline Disc I bought??

Okay, I've checked several paint shops, and they seem to be "not interested" in painting my disc (pic link below). So, I was wondering, I have access to a sandblaster, in which I plan to use. So, I'll have this disc cleaned up very well prior to painting. Seeing that I'm not going to be able to paint get a shop to paint the disc, I may have to do it myself. Instead of spending the money on all the painting equipment, can I use a spray can primer, and enamel (gloss black - industrial grade - tractor grade - brand name = Van Sickle??) painted with a brush? Or, would that be a waste, especially since I'm going through the trouble of sandblasting. Or, should I go ahead and use spray gun, which will make it worth the effort? Is the primer in the over the counter spray cans as good as the epoxy primer (OMNI MP170) you use in a spray gun?

Thanks for the guidance,
Dennis

I thought you were stripping the paint, not sandblasting. Sandblasting is ok, but if you say you have access to a sandblaster, I hope the compressor comes with it. Your 2.5 hp will only handle a very small one and it will take you hours, or longer, unless you have one that puts out a minimum of 25 SCFM. As to paint, tractor store paint really is not very good, if you use it you should plan on repainting in a year or two, unless the disk stays inside and does not get used. It will look ok for awhile, then it will begin to fade. Spray can primer in no way compares with MP 170, but as I said it will last for a while.

Yes, I am stripping the paint, and I plan to sandblast the parts. I bought a sandblasting kit, something I hook to my compressor, or I'll rent a compressor if mine won't work. I suppose it will be like a two stage tank? Well, I guess you answered my questioned, I'll have to find someone with a spray gun, and I'll invest in the PPG paints/primer.
