What are your thoughts on the use of Rustoleum primer over a sanded surface ... any good?

I have had good results using Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer on many things. If for just paintinh an implement or something I just degrease well and wire brush the paint the primer on.

Note if any sanding is required you must wait about a week or so for it to cure fully.

Also it is oil based so not all paints can be used as a topcoat.

I have mower decks that I used rustoleum paints on that have no rust coming thru after 10 years use.

Pretty good stuff, not to say that there is not something better out there though. I just know that the Rustoleum works for me.

I found a miraculous new paint by AlsaCorp called Xposures and it changes colors in different temperatures or even to the touch. It literally explodes into a rainbow. Never thought this was possible.

When I was farming and painted equipment for practical reasons I used Rustolium primer and cant say that I ever had a problem with it. In those days a person could obtain very good leaded enamel from an equipment dealer and the combination worked well. The Rusolium went over sanded bare metal, sanded old paint and in places that were hard to clean, right over unprepared surfaces. If you are planning on using the $25 per gallon implement paint go ahead and use Rustolium, it will last as long as your top coat. If you are planning to use a low end automotive paint like Omni, Nason etc use an epoxy primer from the same supplier as your top coat.
