Am planning on using the MP-170 Epoxy Primer. Would like to know does this stuff lay down nice and smooth? I have my sheet metal smooth now, and after using the epoxy will I still need to lay down primer surfacer & sand, or does the epoxy lay smooth enough I can skip the primer/surfacer and lay down the color coat?
Also had a few questions, was considering using the MP-181, or MP-281 , your thoughts or experiences on these?
Has anybody had any experience with the MP-210 High Solids Primer, I understand it is a ready to spray right out of the can type primer. I have no air system, so I need to stay with non-Iso' type products. Thanks in advance for your feedback and thoughts on the above PPG/Omni products.

Out of my HVLP the 170 would need just a dash of reducer to lay down flat enough to spray over. This will change with individual guns, techniques and desired finish. It lays down flat enough as is for work on castings and my sheetmetal always gets a coat or two of 181 surfacer before I spray top coats. 181 works fine as long as you dont lay it on super thick and hurry the top coats on before it dries completely. Shrinkage will occur under those conditions. If your in a big hurry and need a lot of build there are better products to use I am sure. Make sure you use a good respirator with the epoxy primers. Although they contain no ISOs they are still nasty for your innards.
