If you have an acetylene welding outfir, you can heat and shrink the crease, by first grinding off the paint, and any rust. Then, having a bucket of water handy, and a shop rag, (clean,) Heat a spot cherry red, bump the metal up with a body dolly, then using a body hammer, or a shop hammer with a flat headed surface, and beat the metal toward the deepest part of the crease. by using this method, you can shrink the metal somewhat. then, after you have shrunk it as much as possible, let it cool, grind it and sand it, and apply plastic auto body filler. then using the "long skinnies" sand paper, #40 grit, nailed onto a piece of 2x4, sand the plastic filler down as smooth as possible! you will undoubtedly have to add more filler, until it becomes fairly smooth. Prime with automotive primer (Whatever CNKS recommends) Sand that smooth, with #220 & #320 sandpaper. Use body glazing putty to make it smoother. The hardest part is the shrinking of the metal! If you don't have access to a torch, you'd might as well make friends with the local auto body shop owner! Although, the art of shrinking metal seems to have fallen by the wayside, what with the modern auto body shop turning into a part replacement shop! But, there should be somebody local who still retains the necessary skill of shrinking metal! And, you can't just bang away, cold, and expect to gain anything--all you'll do is make the crease worse! Maybe you can pick up an old fender and practice on that! Rusty Jones
