I have a question. Is it possible to sand primer to smoth for paint to stick the way it should?
My son wanted to get a good slick finish on a tractor hood. We wet sanded the primer with 1200 grit paper. The hood came out slick. When he put the paint on he got a real good paint job but after a few min. the paint started to sag. it does not have a run like to much paint just a sag in the paint and looks like it is to thick? Any advise would be appriciated. Thanks John.

What was the temprature like the day you painted? That same thing can happen when the surface you are painting is too cold.

The tempature was about 75 to 78. I have sanded and repainted the metal and it looks better. I used a 500 grit paper to get the finish back to the ready to paint stage. I still have the rest of the hood to shoot. I am painting a green and yellow hood.
