Tell me if I am right or wrong.Going to strip old paint (sandblast cast and tank sheet metal.Next want to use rust stop of some kind for those areas that might not get cleaned real good(Phosphoric acid?).Then shoot with epoxy primer.Next primer/surfacer(To fill pits and sand marks)? How long before I shoot the final coat can I wait after the primer/surfacer goes on and is sanded down?Trying to figure out if I am on the right track or not. Thanks loads,You guys are great.I know I am a pest but it is important to me to do it right.bob

Be careful of seals when sandblasting, I don't sandblast because I don't have a big enough compressor, I'm leery about sandblasting anyway. As to phosphoric acid, check several pages down or use the archives -- lot of discussion as to what is the right product. I use Picklex 20, seems I'm the only person on this board that does. I don't think there is any time limit on topcoating the surfacer, check the spec sheet. Anyway, why wait? If it is ready to topcoat, do it. It's the epoxy primer that has the window.
