Hit the button too quick:

Question 4: Can you repaint a section of a part, previously painted with MTK, say, a week later? Or should I repaint the entire part? Should I do anything to the surface before recoating?

Thanks again!

Scuff it first with a scotchbright or similar pad and you should be ok, as far as adhesion. In the post below, Butch is correct about having better results if you have some natural break line that you can mask off. I have had a couple of cars partially repainted by a body shop (accidents). They try to blend the new paint into the old. Although they do a good job matching the paint, the swirl marks always show after they buff it -- so you are not going to get it perfect. I have tried using swirl mark remover, with very little success. May be better to repaint the whole part.
