On the Farmall 300, were the hood screws painted along with the rest of the tractor or were they left unpainted at the factory in 1955? And was the radiator cap painted red as well?

Screws and radiator cap were painted, at least in the pictures I have they were. I like to leave the radiator caps unpainted (provided it is plated so it won't rust). I sometimes will use cadmium plated screws in certain places, to avoid having to touch them up, but I don't do many as I don't want to call attention to them. I don't have a 300, but, looking at the pictures and number of bolts, I think I would paint them.
