How can I relate the number on the needle to metric size. I have two binks guns model 62 and 2001. The Binks web site was not a help. I think the 2001 has a 565 needle and the 62 has 365. Thanks for any help

Hi Sam,

You can get that info from the Binks web site (see the links herein). The size designation applies to the fluid tip (nozzle) and not the needle. Generally needles are matched to tips and are not interchangeable. For example, the 565 needle used in the 2001 gun is matched with a #66SS fluid tip. That tip has a 0.070" orifice. That is the same thing as a 1.8 mm tip in metric (25.4 mm / inch). That is a very common general purpose tip size for conventional, non-hvlp, suction feed guns. It would be considered a fairly large tip for a gravity feed or pressure feed gun arrangement but not for suction feed.

For the 62 gun, the 365 needle is also used with the #66 fluid tip. This is a 0.070" or 1.8 mm tip and would similarly be used as a standard size with a suction feed arrangement.
