Prep N Paint aluminum parts. Would it be better to use etch primer as opposed to epoxy? Thanks,

Hi Sam,

No claim to be an expert. However, I am not a fan of etch primers so I will say epoxy -- after some aluminum-specific chemical prep work. This would include blasting with an extra fine grit to completely remove any serious oxidation buildup. Others might prefer etch primer (where recommended by the specific etch primer tech sheet for aluminum). Here's what PPG recommends as a pretreatment for various metals, including aluminum.
