I am in the long process of restoring a 47 dodge pickup, and in the process I sand blasted the engine and then primed it (after reassembily). My problem is that this was a couple of years ago and now it is starting to rust again, and I dont want to sandblast it again. Is there a good way to remove the rust without contaminating the engine, and what kind of paint would you recomend to use so the rust wont come back?

HI Rory
As for the rust, if it's light and not pitted a red scotch brite wet with solvent, mineral spirits, laquer thinner ect., or a wire wheel should clean the surface adaquitly. and for paint , definatly an epoxy primer followed by a urethane topcoat. Dupont Centari is good up to 350 degrees and Dupont industrial coating Imron 3.5HG will go to 450.
