Any advice on the best way to remove light rust from metal chrome surfaces?

Greenengr, go to any drug store and ask for Oxalic acid...don't go through the ceiling..oxalic acid is a powder form and you just put a bit on a cloth, dip it in some water and the rust will wipe off..guaranteed! Oxalic acid is the base for most household cleaners that claim to remove rust so by-pass the middle men and buy it pure and direct from the drug store. A plastic bottle is about $6 and it will go a long way..your wife can use it around the house to remove rust stains in sink, toilette etc and in her wash to remove any rust flakes on your clothes, in the washer or chemical in the water....Mike in Exeter Ontario

For small areas, I've used white polishing compound on a soft rag. For items that can easily be removed and carried, I have an 8" buffer in the garage and I buff them out with a fine buffing rouge.
As you've noticed, chrome rusts and needs to be waxed to keep it looking it's best.
