Still trying to decide. Found my 9.6CFM at 90PSI upright compressor is no where close to the needs of a compressed type blaster needs. Wondering if it is even strong enough for a siphon unit that holds about 100# of product. Does anyone out there use any of those products listed in the Northern Tool and Equipment Catalog? Some items list operating at 80-125#PSI, however, very few list the CFM needed. Am I wasting my time on research? Can rent a large portable sandblaster with 400CFM plus capacity for 220 bucks a day.
Suggestions welcome.

When I was doing my F+H wheels off my F-12 I borrowed my uncles pressure pot rig, ran it with a 1/2 line 20+ cfm commpressor, Had to run around to find blasting media. Didn't like the results. I then took 2 36" wheels , 4 weights and had them blasted for $60 at a commerical blaster. Then had it done the next day. My thoughts on sand blasting is to only do big cast items and take them to a pro. Now if I was doing a car with lots of sheet metal and had to wait 3 months ...

A syphon unit will only add to your misery, your pressure vessel unit will blast faster in spite of waiting on the compressor. One thing that will help is to go with the smallest nozzle your media will go through and replace when they get worn big. You dont need 400 CFM to keep up with your blaster unless it has a huge nozzle. I have an old Yeager 125CFM that idles more than not when blasting with 1/8" nozzles. Around here old gasoline engined contractors compressors dont go real high I have less than $500 in mine including a tune up and fuel pump. All in all you will probaly be ahead in frustration to use the rental unit this time and be looking for a cheap big one before you start the next project.
