I bought a cheap little 10 gallon sandblaster. I cannot get it to work right. I am using play sand with the largest ceramic nozzle I got with it. It will blast for 5-10 seconds then get clogged. I have it hooked to a 26 gallon compressor. What am I doing wrong?

I've found play sand is very poorly screened. It has lots of larger pieces in it and every one of them will clog your blaster. I switched to contractors grade sand. In the Home Depot stores, it isn't located beside the other stuff because it can make silica dust. It is a finer, well-screened sand. Since I've used it, my blaster hardly ever clogs. Make sure you wear a respirator when you blast with it to save your lungs from problems.

The air needs to be dry--you need a filter as far away from the compressor as you can get it.
