ALL THIS TALK ABOUT SANDBLASTING ETC. -- DON'T GET ME WRONG SANDBLASTING IS ONE WAY TO DO IT BUT I HAVE (2) PRESSURE FEED POTS & HAVE NOT USED THEM IN YEARS - A STRONG DETERGENT LIKE "CASTROL SUPER CLEAN" FROM WAL MART OR "GREASED LIGHTNING" FROM LOWES CAN REMOVE OLD DEAD PAINT 40 YEARS OLD - SPRAY IT ON STRAIGHT & LET IT SIT A WHILE YOU JUST MAY BE BE SUPPRISED - MOST OLD PAINT WILL SIMPLY "DISSOLVE" - THIS HAS TO BE REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES BUT A LOT MESSY THAN ALL THAT SAND - NO I AM NOT PROMOTING THESE CHEMICALS JUST TRYING TO HELP

FYI, we make biodegradbale paint removers that can be sprayed through airless or HVLP, and will remove every urethane / alkyd system we have ever tried. The products are used in the aircraft industry, and in particluar our DoradoStrip 5051 is the desirable product

ALSO - I DON'T THINK I'VE SEEN A POST ON THIS - WHAT ABOUT THE RUST THAT THE SOAP DID NOT REMOVE -A GALLON OF "LIQUID RUST REMOVER" CAN BE PURCHASED FROM MAJOR AUTO PAINT STORES TO BE SPRAYED ON WITH A SQUIRT BOTTLE - THIS WILL DISSOLVE THE HEAVIEST FLAKING RUST YOU CAN THROW AT IT, SMALL PARTS CAN BE SOAKED IN IT - YOU CAN TAKE YOUR SHEET METAL & CAST IRON DOWN TO "BARE METAL" WITH NO SAND IN ALL THE LITTLE PIVOT JOINTS ETC.
