Hi Tom The Imron copolymer(water borne) is one of many Imrons, Dupont had such good sucess with that name and the name made evryone think of tough, durable, fleet or industrial finish that they kept using it, So there is Fleet imron 3.5, 2000, 5000,6000, and Elite. there is also Industrial Imron 3.5HG,ST,FT, and 2.8HG, ST, FT, and Imron Copolymer 1.2HG and 1.5 PR,ST, So is it as duarable to the original? that depends on which one you compare it to, any Industrial finish will out perform a fleet finish but with drawbacks like appearance, special equipment required, and a good understanding of prep and application. The industrial Imron 3.5 and 2.8 are solvent borne and are more durable than the Copolymer but the copolymer is more durable than the fleet. Agallon of red would be about $50-$60 there is no reduction, it is ready to spray, it is VERY thick and does like to be pushed out of a gun rather than sucked out so airless and air assisted airless and pressure pot are the best, pressure pot will give the flattest finish and airless will be the roughest.
