Thinking about building a small paint booth to paint the smaller pieces like starters, generators, side panels, etc, maybe clear up to an occasional tractor hood, gas tank or grille.Want to do it on the cheap as I will only use it occasionally.Plywood frame or box?Cardboard lined? Was thinking about using a right angle bend( flockulation process of sorts) to maybe get some of the paint to stick to a piece of paper or a furnace filter at the bend and/or a water /fog to trap the paint mist. Will be using epoxy primer, hardner etc.Maybe a increase of venturi size to get the paint overspray to drop out?Planning on venting it to the outside .I want to eliminate any overspray outside too.How would you do it?Any and all suggestions including size and type of exhaust fan really appreciated.Or is it even a good idea? Thanks, bob

I would suggest doing a search for paint booths. There is a lot of info about construction, etc. Just remember if you build your own and have an accident, your insurance will not pay. Prior to that it will not meet fire codes, or pass city/county inspections. The rules are simply too strict, unless you have a business. You can buy OSHA certified booths for about $1500 up, not including the venting, etc, but your insurance still will not cover you if you have a fire, etc. If you do build one the fans and wiring have to be explosion proof, that alone is very expensive. Rather than having someone tell you what to do -- I could, because I built one -- it is best to do a lot of research, and decide whether you really want to.
