How would you go about painting the underside of the tractor with a gravity feed gun? I am in the process of buying a gun and was wondering how this is done? I was also considering a HVLP gun with a pressure pot.

A pressure pot is best. But, you can take part of a plastic grocery bag (one side) and cut it so that it covers the inside of the cup. Fill the cup half full, lower the bag until it touches the paint and replace the lid. This is the abbreviated version, you might have to mess with the bag a little. Devillbis also has baggies for this purpose. I have not actually painted that way, but have tried with water, turned gun completely upside down with the tip pointing up, after a few squirts of air, I got a constant stream, no spurts. This is against painting rules, but a gravity feed works almost upside down without the plastic, you are spraying at am angle, rather than perpendicular to the surface but I have gotten good coverage. Since I'm never looking at the underside straight on, it looks good to me.

Siphon feed HVLP works well at that angle.
