Hello.
I'm getting ready to paint and spruce up my Farmall a bit. I'm going to do the prep and paint on the castings, wheels, engine chassis parts. I'm not a painter and am afraid of doing the sheetmetal myself. I have a cheap gun but just bought it for this so I have no experience. I'm thinking about taking all the sheetmetal to a local bodyshop or Maaco and give them the paint (same as I'll use on the chassis) and hardner and seeing if they will prep and paint for a reasonable price. Has anyone ever done this? Any thoughts?

No! Buy a Sharpe 300 Finex finish gun (HVLP) and do it yourself! Just make sure you have a compressor that will handle HVLP. I am a first time painter and just can not tell you enough good things about this process. If you can paint cast, you can paint sheet metal.

Now please let us know what you decide.
