I'm getting ready to paint my 8N but before I do can someone tell me what the temp range should be before I start. I'm here in NC. where it's between 30-55 degrees, lately ?

I am no expert in the painting field by any stretch of the imagination, but I paint year round in my shop regardless of temperature. I have a 100,000 btu torpedoe heater. I simply aim this at the tractor, or piece I'm painting until it is to hot to touch, then shut down the heater and paint away. Maybe not show quality job, but better than alot of paint jobs I've seen. Dave1

70-80 is ideal, 60 is borderline, it goes down hill from there.

The IH paint says you can apply from 40 to 95 degrees. 40 seems very cold. Will it really work at that temperature?

I haven't read the can. Even if you can spray it on at that temperature, it will dry very slowly, and you will have to wait a long time between coats. If I can't get my shop to 65-70 degrees, I don't paint. Because, if it fails, all my weeks of prep work went for nothing. I guarantee you that 40 degrees is not bodyshop procedure. I wouldn't paint at 95 either.
