This is where I bought my fresh air respirator. They sell this equipment at cost to people that buy chemicals (paint) from them. I got the respirator first without a paint purchase. I did later buy paint to refinish my bathtub. Its a paint factory so they are bound to have some product you can use and keep your end of the deal?
Best wishes, Dennis..... ...

In my defense, they raised the prices and I didn't catch it. I have bought accesories from the autobody store too. (50 ft pump to filter inlet hose).
So far I have the half-mask and the sandblasting hood. I'd like to have the full view painters hood also but to save money I'm using the half mask under my welding hood and rigging up my owner painters hood.
Best wishes, dennis..... ...

Ken,

I found the neoterik products at a different place for less money. See link

I had to wait as it (Full Hood) was drop shipped from the mfg site and they are backed up. It was only 2-3 weeks after order, so that wasn't bad.

How do I like it? It's great. You can't smell anything while wearing the hood. It's pretty light so it ain't a bother. But do get the swivel as that helps while walking around the shop to refill the spray gun and stuff. Also, get the tearoffs to keep your visibility up. I mounted mine outside the shop and ran the hose to it thru a 1 1/2" PVC pipe I mounted into the wall. That way, it only gets solvent free air and is quiet.

Oh, the down side with all of these is the sound of hissing air while you paint. Not bad, still able to hear the radio, but it's always hissing.

The hobbyair is probably a good unit too, but I haven't used one of them.

John- Bud,
Thanks for the information, You got this one, right?

The Neoterik MC1-72 comes with a Nylon Hood and 50 feet of hose. Your suggesting to also get The optional swivel adaptor that allows the hose to spin and helps eliminate twists and loops. And also the Lens protectors, Belt worn adapter W/ swivel, and would it be a good idea to get an extra Inlet filter?
Thanks
Ken

Ken,

I bought the resp (hood version as I have a beard and wear glasses), swivel, 1 extra inlet filter and 10 tearoffs.

If I were to do it again, I would buy more tearoffs as they have a pretty good price on them and basically incremental shipping is free. There is a pressure guage of sorts on the unit so you can track filter life, so bunches of them are probably not needed.

I did NOT buy the thru wall kit as I figured that PVC pipe would be ok. It is -- 1 1/2 inch works great. I put a glue to screw adaptor on each end and a screw cap to seal it. Expanding foam to make it air tight.

Did more painting this weekend, shot about 2 qts of Ford Blue and Yellow onto parts and pieces of the industrial tractor. The 50' of hose is a bit long for my 24'x24' shop and drags on the floor and gets cruddy while painting. Probably my fault as the shop is full of tractor parts and a car waiting resto!

Hope this helps!

John Bud
