If you have fenders to paint inside and out, paint both sides of all the tin, , paint lights, drawbar, toolbox, battery box etc you will need more than a gallon, more like 6-7 qts. Find out if your supplier will mix qts. When you do get your 6-8 qts, after you get it "box it" That is put it all in one container, mix thoroughly, and then put it back in the origibnal containers.

Perhaps a gallon if you paint everything while still on the tractor. If you remove everything and paint separately, maybe 5 quarts. I would start with a gallon, then provided you can get it mixed the same way twice in a row, you will be able to tell how much more you need. This assumes you apply 3 coats. that's for the topcoat. If you use epoxy primer on everything, less than a gallon (assuming two coats) but the gallon price is cheaper. Surfacer, a couple of quarts.

If you want a deep glossy shine it will take about 2.5 gallons. And the only way to paint it, is to take it apart and paint piece by piece. I assemble the body of the tractor excluding the sheet metal and wheels, and paint two coat finals coats. The sheet metal is finished before it goes on. I don't paint any sheet metal on the tractor. I use 1 gal. for all my pieces and frame then use the 2nd gal. for the last two coats and sheet metal. All color matches. Retired Restorations.
