Sounds like a miracle product, you find those in all kinds of products. The more hype the worse the product is.

I found this gem buried deep in the "Eng. Data" section:

Suggestions for use

Avoid ingestion, contact with skin or eyes. The use of safety glasses and chemical gloves is recommended. When brushing or rolling at elevated ambient temperatures (above 79oF) or when spraying, a self-contained breathing apparatus is recommended. See Material Safety Data Sheet before use.

This is the first time I have ever seen anything in writing specifically concerning applying iso-containing materials by brushing. SCBA even. Wow! Interesting stated safe/nosafe transition temp of 79 deg F when brushing. Too exact a determination for me. This stuff is definitely not for the average homeowner DIY.

Oh jeez no. It shouldn't be. Isocyanates are only a problem until all vapors are gone. Once dry, the stuff should be as safe as anything else, I would expect. I've never used this product or read anything about it until tonight on the link you provided, so I certainly am no expert on it.

Hi Nathan,

No, I've never tried it. I see it has a heavy load of isocyanates in it though. Check out the MSDS. One of 'em (the major constituent) is a "secret" blend referred to as "MDI based polyisocyanates". That one lacks any noted exposure threshold limit value (TLV) established by any safety agency. Which makes it impossible, even if one had the means to do so, to measure regulatory exposure levels. In my opinion supplied air respiratory equipment should be used all the time, no matter how it is applied, despite what this manufacturer may recommend. Real bad stuff to breathe.

I was planing on geting a supplied air system anyway for puting on the paint because i will be useing harder in it, so I will make sure and wear it when I put on that stuff(I thats what I end up useing) Has anyone ever used a rust thing like this or something like por 15 and had good luck????? if so please post them here.

I have a biased opinion -- if you are painting an implement for the purpose of making it look better and perhaps preventing further rust, use a "Rust Bullet/POR 15" type product -- forgive me for putting those in the same class, as I have not used either one. If you are painting a tractor and want a really good, shiney, long lasting paint job, remove the rust and use acrylic urethane (provided you have a supplied air system) from a major manufacturer such as PPG, DuPont, Sherwin Williams. I like to used the terms "there is no free lunch", and "you get what you pay for".
