The tractor store paints, Van Sickle, TSC, Cisco, etc, are synthetic enamels and will look good after application, but will fade rapidly, particularly if the tractor gets much outside exposure. If you don't have a supplied air system, get the proper colors mixed in acrylic enamel from PPG, DuPont, Sherwin Williams or Martin Senour. I'm not familiar with the Ford paint codes, people on the N board on this site are. If you are going to do more than one tractor, get a supplied air system and use hardener in the acrylic enamel, or better use acrylic urethane (Must have hardener). Or, if you don't care if it fades, or you are willing to do frequent waxing, use cheaper paint.

Well, there are some very expensive PPG paint that are good. If you are looking for cheap, and an enamel based paint, TSC New Holland Red is a pretty good match and the Tisco Ford Medium Grey is dead on for the grey color.

Good luck,
Dan

Bill - Sorry for the delay. I do not have any experience with the Tisco Ford Red, I use Tractor Supply New Holland Red Enamel for the body, but the Tisco Medium Grey is MUCH closer to the original color than the Tractor Supply's Ford Grey. I just put the Tisco paint on my NAA project tractor, so I cannot comment on how long the paint resists fading yet, but I am using a hardener as well which should help that problem.

Please don't use Tisco paint for anything you want the finish to last on.
It will fade badly within a year.
New Holland paints are excellent acrylic enamels and since they come from the maker your assured of a correct color match.
