I know this question is probably asked often, but what is the best paint to use. I just did a D14 allis and the local auto parts sells Sherwin-Williams auto paint. I used an Acrylic enamel with a hardener and it looks pretty good, but the color was "AC Fleet Orange", and it does not quiet match the original persian orange. I have a JD 720 Lined up to do next, so where is the best place to buy classi green and classic yellow?? I want an exact match, no more of this fleet stuff. Would you recommend going to a base/clear??? If so how hard is the clear to apply??? What holds up the best and keeps from fading???

Hi
The fleet paint is good to use and the color not matching is a result of many variables, basically any solid color can be matched in any paint quality it just takes a paint store willing to work with you to give you the color you want and not hand you a gallon and say this is all you get. As for the best paint to use, your best choice is urethane, a base clear will have more UV screener, but single stage paint works fine too.
