I want to remove and replace the S in Chalmers on my G (Vinal Hood Decal - Allis Chalmers). What is the best way to take it off without effecting the paint. Hood was painted 30 days ago with Acrylic Enamel.

Hi Ray, like txgrn said and or a heat gun which get"s extremly hot.If you use the heat gun don"t get it to close or you will blister the paint. You can also leave it so the sun is shinning on it,let it get so you can"t hold your hand on it.Take your time and pull the vinyl slowly, this usely help"s with the glue residue that tend"s to get left behind, when trying to pull to fast.I only hope you let the paint cure all the way before putting your vinyl on? Result"s in most all of the glue staying on your paint.HTH,Jay 2NSC

Auto body supply stores sell a stripe eraser for that purpose. It's a rubber disk that goes on the end of a die grinder. It will not hurt your paint.

I removed vinyl stickers on my p/u with a hair dryer. Heat it, fingernail up a corner and pull while heating. You can feel it let go as you move along.
