okay guys hopefully someone has allready been through this one. I'm painting a new set of rear rims for my 1965 JD 3020. I took my PPG list and picked up some Omni 2k urethane. I tried to get 81687 was told it subs to 81986 so I bought the 81986 and guess what. Looks like too much orange in it, closer to the industrial line than the ag. Has anyone tried ppg 81058? That is the other code listed for John Yellow (1967). Should I give up on the 1967 yellow and try 80186 which is listed as JD Yellow with out any date on it. I really don't want to have to go out and buy 6 cans of paint like I did with Persian orange. Thanks Jason

I've use PPG paints for a couple of years now on boat and vehicle repairs and I've had much better color matches if I have the paint guy come and scan the paint to be matched rather than rely on codes. If you can find a spot you can compound off the oxidation to bring up the old color then have it scanned and you should get a good match.
