I JUST PAINTED THE HOOD AND GAS TANK ON MY 35 WC YESTERDAY. THE PAINT WENT ON BEAUTIFULLY. THE PROBLEM IS THE AIRBOURNE DUST THAT IS ALWAYS PRESENT. SOME OF THIS DUST SETTLED ON THE PAINT BETWEEN COATS, AND IS VERY VISIBLE IN CERTAIN LIGHT. IS THERE A WAY TO BUFF THIS OUT OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM? IN THE FUTURE, HOW CAN I AVOID THE PROBLEM FROM OCCURRING IN THE FIRST PLACE? THANK YOU. PAT.

You will need to wait a few days for it to cure. Sand the spots with 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper until the dust is gone. Recoat. If it is a final coat then buff it after sanding with a good compound such as Wizard finish cut. This is good for dust, bugs, orange peel. Only problem is it is a lot of work and slows progress.
