I cleaned all the dried paint from my Powermate spray gun, inside. Now it sprays in spurts and starts to run out of air. It acts like it is not drawing paint contiously. Any ideas what I did wrong? Thanks, Andy

Pick up the gun in yer right hand, at eye level, with the nozzle pointing to yer left. Where you can see the shiny rod (needle) going into the spray head, put one drop of motor oil in that area, then work the trigger about 15 times, wipe off any excess, and try it. Sometimes that packing dries out, and causes spitting.

Its either the vent pluged or more likely the needle packing leaking.

Dismantle the gun and soak it in high strength laquer thinner. Not the cheap stuff but the more expensive and much "hotter" good stuf.

Brush and flush it out after soaking for a couple of days and then reassemble and try it again.

Andy, check your vent to the gun. If it is plugged, will not allow air into the canister and gun won't draw paint out.
