Hi,

Are you sure of that number? 7773 does not show up as a currently valid formula number at DuPont's website. I also have an old DuPont-to-PPG cross reference dated July 1990. 7773 does not show up there either. The 7773 does show up in a listing of DuPont tractor formulas as a Deutz Tractor Green but it's odd that it doesn't show up valid at DuPont's website. It could be that it's an old Dulux number that never got carried forward into the modern world by DuPont. Deutz doesn't show up at all in the PPG listing that I have. Do you have any more information than just that number?

No, I don't have anymore info. I found that number on a website on old tractors. I'm trying to find a PPG paint that matches the old Deutz green. Sounds like I'll just have to take a part off the tractor into the store and see if they can match something. I would appreciate any other ideas!
Thanks for your time!

I believe DuPont has a generic system of "rainbow" colors called "Spectramaster". If you have a DuPont dealer near you, you might want to see if you can get a near match with a sample piece that you bring in - if you can find something that you think is representative and not all faded out. PPG probably has a similar system, I don't know. You can always try PPG for a cross from the DuPont 7773. The list I have may not be complete. Or you could double check the 7773 availability at a DuPont dealer if you haven't already.

Martin Senour (NAPA) shows one green for Deutz tractors and Sherwin Williams shows two different greens for them. I don't have a cross from either of these to PPG but PPG might be able to do that. I don't have a lot of faith in crosses so whatever you finally decide on, I'd recommend buying the smallest quantity possible to check out before spending a lot only to find that it is not what you really want. If you have something existing that makes a decent sample, that gives you a good start.

Thanks Rod, I copied the numbers down and will see where they lead. I spoke with the PPG guy yesterday and he said he could probably match something if I brought it in. The challenge will be in finding a good piece.
