Hi Jeb, I am surprised that your NAPA store carries NASON. All the NAPA stores in my area are Martin Senour shops. Anyway, NASON is DuPont's "economy" or "value" line of automotive paint products. Technical data sheets (also called product data sheets) are available for NASON products. They detail how to mix and use the products and which products to use together to avoid having compatibility problems. These sheets should be available in hard copy at the same location that sells the product. You will not be given the appropriate sheets automatically. You'll have to ask for them. The store may not have them. The counter person perhaps has never heard of them or doesn't know if he has them or even where to find them if he does. The case of the person who doesn't know what he's selling. It happens all too frequently, especially where there is no dedicated paint counter with a paint specialist behind it. However, you can get the necessary technical sheets for NASON products at DuPont's Automotive Finishes website. Once there, follow this path to get to the NASON tech sheets in pdf format: products>technical manuals>nason I recommend you start with the tech sheet for the topcoat product that you are considering using and from there determine what other products, including primers, are recommended for use with it. If you use all the recommended products as specified, including indicated time periods, you should not have to be concerned with adhesion issues. I don't think there is any "test" that is practical for the end user to do to determine such a thing. Just make sure that the surface is clean by using a specialized surface cleaner prior to applying primer or paint. Once you have the tech sheets for the products you plan to use, you will likely know more about the subject than the salesman selling you the products. Rod
