"Lacquer primers" do not use hardener, urethane primers do. Epoxy primer uses hardener (better word for the epoxy hardener is catalyst). All hardeners except those for most, possibly all, epoxy primers contain isocyanates. A supplied air system is a requirement for using primers/paints containing hardeners, with the exception of most epoxy primers. Lacquer primers will not work with hardener, urethane primers and epoxy primers will not work without hardener. Urethane topcoats are usually the ones that are clear coated. Base coat clear coat (bc/cc) indicates that it is clear coated. Single stage acrylic urethane can be clear coated, but will not add a lot to the gloss. Most, if not all of such questions are answered on the following pages of this forum, and in the archives.
