Well...Hardheaded me went back to the old paint store and got a stirred, accurate mix. Also got another sample with 7 parts less orange (36 total) with all of the other tints at their respective numbers. The 7 part(s) defficient was made up with clear. (guess I should of added 7 parts red to make it up, sure is thin and I dont know how this will affect the final outcome, orangepeel etc.) I shot some pieces of shiny aluminum this evening and will try to put them up tomorrow. I could see a difference between the first "orange" can and the accuratly mixed second can. The 3rd can (7 parts less orange) looks better to me than the other 2. Lighting is bad outside right now so its not a good comparision time. Ill get them up tomorrow.

Thanks,

scott#2

Not to make anyone mad, just my 2 cents again...I went to PPG color 21 adjustment 6 years ago. There were about 15 of us in this class (Nashville, TN in the old, now defunct, training facility). We were each given about a half pint of RTS color (solid blue)from the same batch and a 2'x2' primed alumiunm panel to paint. We sprayed the panels and went to lunch. After returning an hour later, we discovered 15 panels with 15 different shades of blue....the point being that 50% color match is the paint and 50% color match is technique; please keep this in mind.

Likely the blue was metallic -- old tractors aren't painted with metallic-or else your class of 15 were the worst painters in the world.
