I noticed discussion about using a sandable surfacer on top of epoxy primer before painting. Does this come in quart cans like paint? What nozzle would you use? Some of my rims have some rough spots I want to fix before the final spray. Should I get a professional to do this procedure? The epoxy primer looks great since the blasting and primer. What white was used on the IH plows and wide front rims. I've got two 15 x 8" rims which were white on my IH wide front. This is a 560 Diesel. Lance

IH had several whites, you might ask on the Farmall board, as I don't know the plow whites. Some(all??) of the plow wheels were cream colored, you might check that. The white for your 560 is IH 901/PPG 8665, so I've been told, I will use it when I paint my 460. The surfacer to use depends on what you are going to topcoat it with. The surfacers for Concept are more expensive. The other day Rod said he thought you could use Omni products under Concept (no guarantees). Omni numbers are MP 181 for a lacquer primer surfacer (no hardener), the hardened surfacer is MP 182. Advantage of using hardener is that it will fill sanding scratches better, lacquer primers sometimes bridge gaps and sink in after topcoating. Otherwise, the link is a PPG product listing -- look up the topcoat you are going to use and it will tell your what to use under it.

I agree with using the 2 part primer. Considering the costs (MP181 gallon w/reducer about $63, MP182 gallon w/hardener $90, new MP282(like 181 but gray color) gallon w/hardener $71) lacquer-type is not worth the risk. Concept will go over 182 or 282 just fine.
