240V/60gallon/7hp startup/4.5 running vertical. Single stage 2-cylinder/1phase/ 135psi max/10.3@90. Anybody with any luck or horror stories here? Light duty sandblasting, some painting, and air tools.
Thank you.

I have a IR that is in the same leage. Does all I have needed,[no HVLP yet though]but is realy the min. It will do the job, but if you are alreay spending money, I would spring for a little more. I got mine used, for a real good price so I am happy, but I wish it was a bit bigger.

I agree with the others, 10.3 cfm is just barely adequate. Read the label on the tools that you will be using, it will tell you what cfm is required.

Minimal for what you want to use it for, that is a pretty standard size compressor sold by farm stores, under many trade names. At a minimum, I would recommend the next size up, which is about 15 cfm at 90 psi, two stage is better, will probably cost you 2-300 more. Even with 15 cfm it will probably run continuously when sandblasting, barely keeping up -- and will likely not have a 100% duty cycle. Mine has 25 cfm, wish it was bigger. Yes, buy Quincy if you have the money.

I bought that model at TSC in August, 2000. Have sandblasted a couple of tractors with it. It's adequate, but my next compressor will be a Quincy or equivalent. The Farmhand now is leaking down overnight, so I need to shut off the power. Havn't found the leak yet.
