Hi, I"m Bryce Burden with the Hooker FFA in Hooker OK, and our chapter recently acquired a 1937 Case model C tractor from a local farmer to restore in our ag mechanics class. We have run into a bit of confusion about the original color of our tractor. My ag teacher and I have been told that the original color for our tractor was a grey but ours has traces of orange paint on it. I have even heard of model C tractors being painted green or any other Case color of the time frame. Is this true and can anybody help us with our confusion. The Hooker FFA and I thank you in advance whether you can help us or not.

First off are you a sooner or a boomer? J/K I used to live in Mehan OK (part of Stillwater). I'm 90% sure the C should be Grey. I THINK I read that green was used on the earlier cross motor tractors, they ended in 1928. The Orange you see is most likely a repaint to the more modern Flambeau red (looks orange to me) The flambeau red was used 1939-55. One of the national case clubs had a nice write up on the colors a couple years ago. John Salie(SP) who post on the case forum is one of their tech people, I'd post a question to him. Here is a link to Rod(NH)'s ppg paint code list, buy a small amount and see if the color looks correct. There is also a few color pic's of C's in Pripps & morland's book "Case GP tractors". Peter Letourneau's "Illustraed buyers gued case tractors" is black and white. Good Luck

You might want to post this question in the discussion site related to the Case brand. They will hop on it.
