have jd h i want to repaint theres a good bit of surface rust on it but nothin real bad was woundering what the best way would be to prep it for paint

I remove it with a wire brush on an angle grinder or electric drill, then neutralize the minimal remainder with a product such as Picklex 20. Some people use rust converters after doing little more than removing the large chunks, I prefer mechanical removal. You can sandblast parts that are off the tractor. Be careful with a sandblaster on sheet metal, it can warp or change the contour of the metal.
