Hi, Maybe you shouldn't have backed off on the fluid flow. I have used OMNI AU (MTK - single stage) with no run problem. I don't use especially thin coats. I guess I would categorize them as medium, even the first one. I always keep my fluid flow wide open, as I believe most do. I have never used Concept but consider it a higher quality level of paint - hence the much higher cost. I would also expect it to cover better that the OMNI, which is noticeably thin, as you mention. I have used the equivalent of Concept (DCC) in basecoat - DBU. It covers better than the same basecoat in OMNI (MBC). I found that I needed to use one more coat of the OMNI than with the DBU. That was in red. I think white is typically a color that does not cover well, especially with a darker undercoat or primer. Make sure you are using the correct reducer for the temperature involved, that you have the proper air pressure available, measured right at the gun inlet, run your fluid and fan controls wide open, keep the proper gun distance and you shouldn't have a run problem with the OMNI. You probably will have to apply more coats with OMNI than with Concept for similar coverage but I wouldn't expect it to be more than two additional ones. You'll have to judge for yourself if that extra effort is worth the cost savings when using OMNI. Since you are not panel-matching an automotive part, the better color quality control and matching ability inherent in the higher cost Concept is not an issue. Rod
