I'm doing a ground-up restoration of my Farmall Super A. All parts are primered. I will assemble the tractor to a certain stage in which it can be painted. This means that parts such as hood, fenders, grill, battery box, rims, lights, etc. will be painted separately and mounted later. Is this an acceptable method?
During the assembly process I cannot avoid getting some oil and dirty fingerprints on the primer. How can I remove these before painting?
(I will have the painting done professionally because want it right and do not have the facilities, skills and space for painting.)
Any and all help appreciated. Hendrik

PPG sells and oil and grease remover. However, you can use almost any good grease remover. It would be my thought that if you are going to have it painted, let them worry about wiping it down with their product.
