I recently moved my Ford 5000 inside to protect it from the elements. Well, it turns out one of the barn cats likes to sit on top of the hood, survey the world, etc. My young female Lab tried to get at the cat pretty good and scratched the hell out of the paint with her claws. The cat also left a few behind as she absquatulated. Any ideas on how to minimize the damage short of re-
painting the whole tractor? I'm so mad right now that there's probably going to be an animal population control program going into effect very soon. Thanks.

Yeah, I can feel the scratches with a fingernail. Some are pretty deep. I guess I have two choices: ignore them, or bite the bullet and refinish the machine. If I decide on the second choice then the cat has to go. Hardly seems fair, but who says life is fair? But thanks for the advice.

If you can catch a fingernail in the scratches, it most likely will need to be refinished! If no catch, it might be able to be buffed out, with a very fine sanding with very fine wet sandpaper, but you'll have to decide that! RJ
