I had a friend paint a tractor for me. He used a base coat/clear coat system. When he was finished, he buffed the hood and rear fenders. While buffing one of the fenders he went through to the primer. How many other places might he have buffed all the clear coat off and now I just have the base coat left? If I wax this tractor over the clear coat I should not get any green paint on the cloth I buff with should I? If I do get green on the cloth I assume there is not any clear coat on that part of the tractor.

if you are getting green on the rag ,there is no clear there .when buffed or sanded clear coat turns white.
