Hi, I just purchased my first tractor a 1974 MF-135. It"s being delivered next week. It has the orignal paint on it, just faded. As a winter project I"d like to pretty her up, not show quality just bring her back to a newer look. Where are the paint codes located? Are there any websites with photos of 74 MF 135"s. I"ve looked at just about everything I could find (I think) here at YT. Google wasn"t much help. Thanks!

I had this really long post that would have been a boon for you, but my internet authentication ran out and it was lost, but here is the jist of what I was going to say: Here is a list of what gets painted what along with the proper color. The Massey-Fergusons that were part of the 100 and 1000 series are a little bit more complicated because they required three different colors; MF Red, Metallic Flint Grey, and Metallic Silver Mist Grey.

When you use the MF Red, they apparently changed the hue in the 1970s - when I don't know. But the current MF Red works fine...anyways you paint the Sheet metal with the exception of the piece that fits in the nose cone this color as well as the fenders and lights. You also paint the center disks of the wheel rims red also. The Belly/chassis/3-point is Metallic Flint Grey - they also make Flint Grey, but that was the old fergie grey. The triangle braces, the chins that the front headlights if so equipped mount into and the wheel rims (minus the center) are metallic silver mist grey. If you have a roll-bar those are red and the canopy I think was white - it might also be silver mist too. I own a copy of the operators manual and the pictures are all black and white. There are photos of MF 135s on the internet - one website is Dutch and I don't know how to read Dutch but the pictures are in Color and should help you even though the models pictured are european which had some cosmetic differences. But, if you use any of the major ag brands' used equipment searches, you'll find a 135 in the mix and some are in better shape than others as well. I hope this helps!

here is a link to Rod's web site, he has a list of ppg paint codes. Does a owners manual have any pic's? Your dealer should be able to get one for a machine that new. Also take a look at ebay for an old sales broucher(sp). good luck
