I am using NASON paint for a clear coat base coat set-up for my motorcycle race plastics, and I will likely use this set up on my Farmall H too.

I was wondering how long you should wait before you apply the clearcoat to a freshly painted piece? The flash times with this paint are around 10-12 minutes, and a dry/cure time of 3-4 hours, so how long after that can I clear coat it? Do you ever sand your fresh paint job prior to spraying your clearcoat?

Also, are there some good painting web sites with forums like this Tractor site has? Are there any monthly publications about painting that I can get so I can start learning more about painting and refreshing my painting skills?? Thanks.

You can clear coat after flash, about 10-15 minutes, NO don't sand base prior to clear, you will expose the new clear to parafin wax and kill adheasion

I haven't used bc/cc, thinking about trying it--thus I don't know. All instructions should be on the spec sheets--which is the advantage of using DuPont or PPG, you don't have to guess. A good painting forum is www.paintucation.com -- haven't been there for a while, the moderator is a PPG user, should not matter as the principles are the same. He actually worked at a body shop and is quite knowledgeable. www.autobodystore.com also has a forum. There are many others.
