I'm a first time painter and would appreciate opinions on the TP Tools Showtime 90 vs. other systems. Thanks.

Scott, having had experience with turbines is the one to listen to. I have not used turbines, but TP Tools has a good reputation and I doubt if you can go wrong with them.

I'll make a stab at it.

I use an Accuspray turbine and gun, got it from a pawn shop for $150.00. Does a nice job for just a little 2 stage turbine. I think anyone would be hard presed to see any difference between this unit's work and a shop air system, hvlp or not, it's all paint quality, gun and technique. Real convienient and reasonable cost. You can find systems used on ebay for around $400.00. A Accuspray turbine gun alone is about $400.00 new. I dont know much about the system that you mention except that air is air and if your shooting a really heavy mix (hi solids, latex etc.) you'll need more than a 2 stage blower. The gun makes a big difference on a turbine driven system. A good sprayer can probably make the cheapest gun shoot nice on shop air but in turbine systems it's a whole different ballgame and the 2 different, systems, guns, are not interchangeable
Hope this is some help.

The main advantage of the turbine paint system is the completely dry air. The air is heated by the turbine action and moisture is removed. This is an even dryer air than you can get from the standard inline filter systems.
