Repaint Acrylic Enamel over Acrylic Urethane?

Many months ago I painted tractor parts with PPG acrylic urethane gray paint with hardener. It turns out that 3 of the parts should be red. I am ready to repaint these parts with CIH 2150 acrylic enamel with hardener that is used elsewhere on the tractor. Will this be acceptable, or will I have problems? Thank you for any responses.

Hi Barry,

You should not have any trouble at all putting AE over AU. Just make sure you scuff up the AU with either 400 grit or a maroon (general purpose) Scotch-Brite hand pad.

as I was told by a ppg rep it's all acrylic enamel it becomes a urethane when the hardner is used
